Senior Public Relations StrategistPriority Marketing, Fort Myers, FL

Priority Marketing is seeking a Senior Public Relations Strategist with at least five years of experience and is responsible for developing and executing strategic public relations plans that align with the client’s overall goals. This individual collaborates closely with the account managers/directors as well as directly with clients in various industries, as assigned. APR accreditation and agency experience are preferred but not required.

Reports to director of public relations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Developing and collaborating with account and PR director to create strategic public relations plans for clients as assigned
  • Providing public relations counsel to clients and team members
  • Developing key messaging for clients specific to PR strategies
  • Researching, copywriting and editing for editorial projects including news releases, media advisories, articles, guest opinions and other editorial content
  • Proofing and editing projects by other writers and design proofs for grammar, accuracy and style
  • Generating and identifying story ideas/pitches for clients in collaboration with the public relations team
  • Pitching stories to the news media – drafting talking points and coordinating interviews
  • Drafting award submissions for clients
  • Providing crisis communications support and counsel as needed
  • Providing media training for clients as needed
  • Engaging in client meetings, internal meetings and with media sources
  • Coordinating PR-related events such as media tours, press conferences, grand openings, etc.
  • Any other activities provided under the scope of services provided by Priority Marketing as deemed necessary by senior staff, supervisor, manager and the company president
  • Tracking and logging time dedicated to specific projects and project-related activities
  • Attending client functions that Priority Marketing coordinates, as needed. These functions may fall outside of regular 8:30 a.m. – 5:30p.m. work week hours, for which you will be notified in advance.
  • Cross training with other team members when needed
