The Florida Public Relations Association’s (FPRA) Image Awards competition is the precursor to FPRA’s Golden Image Awards.

Conducted annually, the Image Awards competition provides Southwest Florida PR practitioners an excellent platform to be recognized for their outstanding public relations tools and programs.

FPRA Golden Image Awards

2020 Local Image Awards

Our 2020 Local Image Awards ceremony was held virtually due to the Covid-19 pandemic, with more than 83 members attending!

Our winners were:

CONRIC PR & Marketing won an Award of Distinction and Judges’ Award in the Video – Promotional/Marketing category for Hope Clubhouse – Faces of Hope Who Give, and an Award of Distinction in the Video – Institutional category for Words from the Waterkeeper.

An Award of Distinction in the Special Events category went to Vanessa Fernandez, APR, for Ladies Sizzle Brunch.

Lee Health won an Image Award for their Internal Public Relations Campaign, ExceptionalLee.

A Judges’ Award in the Public Affairs category went to the team of Heather Mazurkiewicz, Jazz Zombo and Florida Firefighters for Firefighter Boots at the Capitol.

Priority Marketing won an Image Award and Judges’ Award in the Special Events category for Priority Marketing and Hope Healthcare Shine with Hope Healthcare, and an Image Award and Judges’ Award in the Public Relations Other category for James Fox Fundraising Event – A Life Without Limbs, From Homeless to Hopeful. Priority Marketing won an Award of Distinction and Judges’ Award in the Integrated Marketing category for Guadalupe Center Integrated Marketing Campaign with Guadalupe Center, an Award of Distinction in the Online Newsletter Category for Priority Marketing Newsletter, an Award of Distinction in the Community Relations category for Bus Stop Safety Campaign with The School District of Lee County, and an Award of Distinction in the Promotional/Marketing category for Cypress Pharmacy CBD Campaign with Cypress Pharmacy. Priority Marketing also won a Judges’ Award, an Image Award and Grand Image Award in the Printed Tools of Public Relations Other category for Guadalupe Center End-of-Year Direct Mail Appeal with Guadalupe Center.

An Award of Distinction in the Annual Report category went to Andrea Schuch for Cape Coral Fire Department FY 2019 Annual Report.

 

2019 Local Image Awards

Our 2019 Local Image Awards ceremony was held in April at the Burroughs Home and Gardens in Fort Myers.

Our winners were:

Jennifer J. Edwards, Supervisor of Elections, Heather Doane, APR, Voter Education Coordinator, and Trish Robertson, APR, CPRC, Public Relations Officer for the Collier County Supervisor of Elections Office received an Award of Distinction and Judges’ Award for their public service campaign, Millennial Votes Matter. They also received a Judges’ Award and the Grand All Image Award in Division A for their integrated marketing campaign, Collier Votes Local.

SPIRO & Associates, Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations and Brand Architecture received an Award of Distinction for the community relations campaign Sustainable Outreach Society-Goodness To-Go and the public information campaign, Fort Myers Doughnut Operations Grand Opening. They also received an Award of Distinction and Judges’ Award for the public service campaign Lee BIA Impact Fee Campaign.

CONRIC PR & Marketing received an Award of Distinction and Judges’ Award for the public service campaign, Faces of Hope at Work. They also received an Image Award and Judges’ Award for the public affairs campaign, City of Cape Coral GO Bond, and a Judges’ Award for the public relations program, Madisen’s Match.

Albert Arguelles, Vice President and Randy Mitchelson, APR, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at iPartnerMedia received an Image Award and Judges’ Award for the public service campaign, the Southwest Florida Challenge (#SWFLchallenge).

The Lee Health Strategic Communications & Public Relations Department received a Judges’ Award for the public information campaign, Lee Health Coconut Point Media Tour.

Priority Marketing and the Conservancy of Southwest Florida received an Image Award, Judges’ Award and the Grand Image Award in Division C for the Conservancy of Southwest Florida’s Magic Under the Mangroves 2018 Fund-A-Need Video.

Priority Marketing and The School District of Lee County received an Award of Distinction and Judges’ Award for the public affairs campaign, Change for Change: It’s About Kids, Not Numbers.

Priority Marketing and the Guadalupe Center received an Award of Distinction for the Guadalupe Center Video Brochure with Printed Insert.

Kirsten O’Donnell, Director of Communications for the Area Agency on Aging for Southwest Florida received an Image Award and Grand Image Award in Division B for the Area Agency on Aging’s 40th Anniversary Milestone News Release.

The Lee County Electric Cooperative (LCEC) and SPIRO & Associates received a Judges’ Award for the LCEC Website project.

For student projects in public relations, Fabiano Solano, former Communications Director for the FPRA FGCU student chapter, received an Award of Distinction and a Judges’ Award for the public relations campaign, A New Chapter in FGCU Pages.

2019 Golden Image Awards

The Southwest Florida chapter won big at the 2019 Golden Image Awards, held during the FPRA Annual Conference held Aug. 4-7 in Tampa.

Our Golden Image Award winners were the Lee Health Strategic Communications and Public Relations Department and Priority Marketing. These two organizations also took home Judges’ Awards.

Our Award of Distinction winners were Albert Arguelles and Randy Mitchelson, APR; Jennifer J. Edwards, Heather Doane, APR, and Trish Robertson, APR, CPRC; Conric PR & Marketing; LCEC; Spiro & Associates; and FGCU student chapter member Fabiana Solano.

Our Judges’ Award winners were Albert Arguelles and Randy Mitchelson, APR; Jennifer J. Edwards, Heather Doane, APR, and Trish Robertson, APR, CPRC; Spiro & Associates; and Priority Marketing and the Conservancy of Southwest Florida.

We also celebrated three President’s Awards, including President of the Year for 2018-2019 President Lisa Murray, APR, CPRC! We also took home awards honoring our accreditation and certification efforts, and our Local Image Award celebration.
