Hurricane preparation – particularly public information – is a major responsibility of emergency managers. Participants will have a brief tour of the Lee County Emergency Operations Center; presentation on PR/Media strategies and implementation issues.

Speaker: Lee Mayfield, Emergency Planning Manager
Lee Mayfield is the Planning Chief for Lee County Emergency Management. Mayfield joined Lee County in 2014 after working as an Emergency Management Coordinator and EOC Operations Chief at Collier County Emergency Management.
Mayfield previously worked for the Florida Division of Emergency Management and was a State regional liaison to 10 County Emergency Management programs in Southwest Florida.
He has an undergraduate degree from the University of Florida, a Master of Public Administration from Florida State University and was born and raised in Miami.
