Every chapter has its constellation — the people whose talent, generosity and quiet hard work light the way for everyone around them. On Monday, September 14, we’re naming ours.

Join the FPRA Southwest Florida Chapter for an evening honoring the members who raised the bar for our profession this year, and to welcome the 2026–2027 board of directors as they begin their term of service.

• Networking and appetizers — Reconnect with colleagues over hors d’oeuvres, with a cash bar available.
• Board installation — Welcome the incoming 2026–2027 board of directors as they begin a new term of leadership and service.
• Chapter awards ceremony — Celebrate the members who exemplify leadership, dedication and excellence in the profession.
• Photo opportunities — Capture the night at our professional photo station.

About the Awards

Each year our chapter presents four awards to outstanding members:

• PR Professional of the Year — Honors a member who exemplifies the high standards of public relations in Southwest Florida. This is someone who leads by word and deed, supports fellow practitioners, and works to raise the professional standing of FPRA in our community.
• Rising Star — Recognizes an up-and-coming leader in our chapter. Wherever you see this person, they’re making a positive difference — through chapter events, their career and the community at large.
• Chapter Member of the Year — Goes to a member who gives above and beyond in time and energy to ensure the chapter’s success, and who serves as an ambassador for what FPRA is all about.
• Unsung Hero — Created in 2013 to recognize the member whose behind-the-scenes work keeps the chapter running. This is someone who provides support and assistance without hesitation.

Three additional honors are presented only when there is an eligible individual, and are not required to be awarded annually:

• Lifetime Achievement Award — Our most prestigious honor, reserved for practitioners who have dedicated their careers to the profession and its advancement.
• Pam Nulman Soaring Eagle PR Award — Established in 2018 to honor retired practitioner Pam Nulman, APR, CPRC, who devoted her career to mentoring the next generation. It recognizes an active FPRA FGCU student member with exceptional leadership, talent and passion for public relations.
• Friends of Janet Philanthropy Award — Established in memory of Janet Wilson, a beloved chapter member who never met a stranger. It honors a member who gives their time, talent and treasure to our community and inspires others to do the same. Recipients must be members in good standing for a minimum of two chapter years.
