Happy April!
It’s hard to believe we’re already halfway through the chapter year! As I reflect on the first half of my presidency, one thing stands out above all else is the SWFL Chapter’s unwavering commitment to philanthropy. Our greatest strength lies in our dedication to giving back. Mark your calendars for the upcoming Volunteer Day with United Way’s Day of Caring—Saturday, June 13. Feel free to bring friends, family, and others along.
Speaking of giving back… I want to take a moment and thank all who came out to the Soaring Connections event. A special thank you to the team who made it such a success; Lauren Bernaldo, APR, CPRC, Kara Winton, APR, CPRC, Jada Bigord and Violet Powell. The connections made, conversations sparked, and sense of community built are exactly what FPRA is all about. Supporting the next generation of communications professionals is an investment in the future of our industry.
As we begin building the slate for the upcoming year, I encourage you to consider a leadership role. Leadership within FPRA is an incredible opportunity to grow professionally, expand your network, and play a role in shaping the direction of our chapter. If you’ve ever thought, “Maybe someday,” this might be your sign.
Lastly, I want to encourage everyone to start thinking about submitting those Image entries. Whether this is your first time submitting or you’re a seasoned pro, these awards are more than just recognition, they’re a chance to reflect on your work, tell your story, and showcase the impact of public relations in our communities!
Thank you for your continued engagement and your commitment to our profession. I’m excited for what’s ahead and grateful to serve alongside such a passionate group of professionals.
