Merry Givemas Toy Drive in memory of Janet Wilson
The Southwest Florida Chapter of FPRA is excited to continue its annual Merry Givemas toy drive, a tradition honoring cherished chapter member Janet Wilson, who tragically passed away in 2019. Janet’s love for giving back to her community, especially during the holidays, lives on through this effort.
Janet’s warmth, generosity, and dedication to our community continue to inspire us, and Merry Givemas is our way of carrying forward her legacy. Spreading goodwill throughout Southwest Florida, Merry Givemas provides FPRA members and the community with an opportunity to donate new, unwrapped toys and small denomination gift cards. The donations will benefit the Children’s Advocacy Center of Southwest Florida.
Founded in 1981, the mission of the Children’s Advocacy Center of Southwest Florida (CAC) is to provide a coordinated response to child victims of abuse and neglect; and improve the lives of at-risk children and their families through prevention services. CAC assesses and treats children believed to have been physically or sexually abused or to be at-risk of such abuse, and provide a safe place for them to come and be heard. CAC offers abuse determination services as well as therapeutic counseling, parenting education and prevention programs in Lee, Hendry, Glades and Charlotte Counties.
Janet was a beloved member of FPRA SWFL and the Southwest Florida community. She loved giving back, especially during the holiday season and often dedicated her time to collecting children’s toys and gifts for the holidays. Participating in the Merry Givemas toy drive helps us carry on Janet’s legacy and lift the spirits of Southwest Florida children and families this holiday season.
